We have 3 departures a day: 8:30am Outside of the lagon (ocean dive), 10:30am Outside of Reef, 2:30pm Outside or inside of Reef.
Beginners can sign up at 10:30 am and 02:30 pm ( booking is needed) Usually, divers do 2 dives a day: two tanks in morning or one tank in morning and one in afternoon. This third dive is possible in the afternoon in the lagoon in shallow water.
What are the dives?
The lagoon dives are usually shallow. They are very easy and safe, even for young divers or beginners. Usually, we manage to stay with the boat in 3 feet water so it's easy to put the gear on, standing up on the sandy bottom, and then going down slowly over corral. Those sites are still very interesting. The ocean dives are very different. We have different spots including one for the famous sharks feedings done by the Bathys Diving Moorea. These spots are world famous (TIKI point, Rose Garden). We have here a lot of tropical fishes, moray eels, napoleons fishes, 5 kinds of sharks (up to 10 feet long during feedings), 2 kinds of rays, sea turtles, and many other things... We also do drift dives, deep dives... Dive time depend, as you know, of the level of the group but we’re generally based on 40 minutes bottom time. French Polynesia is famous for its beautiful very fishy and easy dives and for its clear & warm water: many of underwater photographers come here for their job.
What's the depth of the dives?
Who says easy says shallow. The average is 10-15 meters (30 to 45 feet) for lagoon dives, 20-25 meters (60 to 75 feet maximum) for ocean dives. The deeper dives we do is 40 meters (120 feet) in ocean. These depths are not maximum depth but effectively depth we reach, except special case. The wealth of shallow water does not incite us to go deeper, safety choose longer than deeper.
